Pure Aluminium Foil is right for some applications but is available in relatively few combinations compared with paper or plastics. The adhesive is often tenacious, and in keeping with the nature of metal aims for longevity.

Paper Backed Aluminium Foil is similar to Pure Aluminium Foil, but with paper laminated to the underside it is easier to handle. Both types are available in Matt and for a mirror like finish, Bright versions are available too.

By comparison with plastics, both types are expensive and only used where justified. They can have their surfaces changed and sealed from abrasion or chemicals by over-laminating.
